About Us

Who are we?

The goal of OOMF non-profit is to honor the memory of Onyekachi Andrew Okolo AKA “Onye” “Drew” Okolo by supporting youth activities in our community through the promotion of leadership and music programs. Onye was a born leader and throughout his short life, showed this trait, from being his high school’s band captain in his senior year to being a co-president of college black student union in his final year. He was also a student ambassador for Santa Clara University during his student years. He cared about his community and was very social conscious supporting different causes on inclusion, equity and civil rights.

His love for music was unmatched, from middle school to his college years and beyond. He played several instruments, including the trombone, sousaphone, tuba, percussion, piano and guitar. He played in jazz bands, concert bands, symphonic bands and marching bands. He was also a member of a marching drum corp. His musical talent also included vocals; he was a member of an acapella group in college.

Community Outreach

Through partnership with other local organizations and with the support of volunteers and other local organizations, this organization works with teenagers and young adults to promote leadership skills and music education in our community. The foundation also will work to increase road safety awareness by organizing workshops and road awareness activities.
